Blinds Solutions for Crowded Windows
Most of us love a nicely decorated windowsill. The windowsill is a great place for setting plants that need sun, a vase of flowers that catches the morning light, a stack of books beside our favorite armchair, and more. However, a crowded window can make opening and closing the blinds a huge pain. Domir Blinds is here to help you out with some blinds solutions for crowded windows.
Window Shades and Screens
One of the best blinds solutions for crowded windows is getting a window covering that’s simple. Standard, slatted blinds are hard to open and close with things on the windowsill because the slats get caught on things. Opting for something with no slats can prevent things from catching and make opening and closing your blinds easier.
For simple window coverings, you can’t beat window shades and window screens. Shades and screens are made of flat materials that roll up at the top of the window when opened. You’ve probably seen window shades in one of your school classrooms. They’re less likely to be damaged if handled roughly. Therefore, they’re great for places where children may use them.
Window shades can be ordered in a blackout variety that blocks out the sun entirely. Screens, on the other hand, are made for letting in filtered sunlight. This screening capability keeps direct sun our of your eyes and off your TV while still letting in some daylight.
Side Channels
Window shades and screens can be paired with side channels for maximum light blockage, insulation, and ease of use. Side channels hold shades and screens in place on either side and are attached to the wall surrounding the window.
If you have small things in your window sill that can be easily knocked off by your blinds bumping them, side channels are the answer. Without the ability to swing back and forth, window shades or screens will be completely neutralized and your figurines or perfume bottles can stay where you put them.
Light Control Without Raising
If simpler blinds that won’t catch on things aren’t helpful in your situation, you’ll benefit from light control without raising your blinds. We have 2 great options that allow this: Magic Lite and Ninet.
The Magic Lite has wooden slats that overlap each other. Because of that, you can go from complete sun exposure to complete blackout with a flick of the cord. With this much control, you can leave the blinds down all the time. Simply adjust the slats to change how much light you get.
The Ninet has standard slats, but they’re positioned between two layers of fabric. You won’t get direct sunlight with these. However, you can go from indirect sunlight to complete shade by adjusting the slats inside. When it comes to blinds solutions for crowded windows, you really can’t beat the Ninet. The design is beautiful, cozy, and the slats can be adjusted without getting caught on things like plant leaves.
